Make Your Own Paper Super GT NSX

Posted by

Epson Cardboard GT500 NSX

Having been blown away by seeing this thing at Tokyo Auto Salon, I wanted to write another blog post related to it.

By now I think we all know how incredible the cardboard GT500 NSX project turned out. For those of you who saw it in person, it was especially amazing when placed next to other Super GT cars. From a distance it literally fooled me and had me thinking it was a real car that just looked “a little unusual”. For a fan at heart like me, I’d love to one day own a 1:1 cardboard replica like this! But for now, I’ll just dream of having enough space at home to be able to own something like this.

The other day my friend Raul send me a link to Epson Japan’s website. It turns out that you can download 30 or so free PDFs to make your own model car! The PDFs give you the layout you need to create your own 1:24 paper car. They have some pretty awesome cars to choose from I might add!

Here’s an example (sheet 1 of 2):

Raybrig Super GT500 Paper car

For the full list of free cars you can download and build at home, check out:

It might not be as cool as a 1:1 car but it’s at least something you can do at home if you’re into that sort of thing.

A couple more pictures of the 1:1 GT500 car follow…

2010 GT500 NSX?

I always need to share the newest works by my friend Jon Sibal. Supporting friends is always great when it matches up with my obligation to readers of this blog to bring only the freshest and most relevant content. This is fresh and relevant. Enjoy.

2010 GT500 NSX Rendering

The rendering is very cool that he did, but even more impressive is the story behind it. Check out Jon’s blog for the source work he used and the steps he took to make this image…

When a Caricature Comes to Life – Super GT NSX Pic

Posted by

Super GT NSX

(1800pix)

This is something I simply just don’t understand. Last time I was in Tokyo I took a picture of this Super GT NSX car. This photo was taken because it was the largest, most idiotic exhaust I’ve ever seen and I needed a photo as proof to explain to someone just how ridiculous it is. I still don’t know how to explain it…it’s like a caricature of a race car come to life.

I’m sure there must be a reason for that exhaust, but I have no idea what it is besides a joke or a marketing plan for Super GT to gain 6 year old fans.
