Daishin Silvia by Matt Rus

Posted by

To be honest with you all, I don’t follow JGTC much these days. So in this post I won’t be talking about who is winning and who is losing. Instead, lets check out Daishin’s Silvia S15, the car that brought Takayuki Aoki and Nobuyuki Oyagi the GT300 Championship title back in 2001.

The last generation Silvia (S15) is one of my favorite cars in terms of design. The long and wide front end gives it an aggressive look, making it a highly intimidating beast when riding your tail in your rear view mirror. Now a days things have changed considerably and car manufacturers are focusing more on building pedestrian friendly cars with higher front ends and shorter hood. Let’s just hope they won’t use those ideas on low production models like a next generation Silvia.

There are very few large and clear images of the Daishin Silvia, I was fortunate enough to find a few.  I  hope you’ll enjoy the pics below.

2010 GT500 NSX?

I always need to share the newest works by my friend Jon Sibal. Supporting friends is always great when it matches up with my obligation to readers of this blog to bring only the freshest and most relevant content. This is fresh and relevant. Enjoy.

2010 GT500 NSX Rendering

The rendering is very cool that he did, but even more impressive is the story behind it. Check out Jon’s blog for the source work he used and the steps he took to make this image…

JGTC GT500 Supra Rendering

CG JGTC GT500 Supra Woodone

I know this method of CG rendering has some type of terminology for those that do it for a living…but whatever you call it, this is damn cool to me. I’m no photoshop or CG guy, but I respect the work greatly. I don’t know the guy who made this, but I found it online and I wanted to share. I also found some other things of his that I might share later too. This in particular though is a favorite of mine. Click the image for super hi-res.

Content for Days…I Just Got Back From Japan

Posted by

If I did my job right then I bet a lot of you didnt even notice that this blog was on autopilot the past 10 days. I’ve been in Japan on my grind during that time and I had set-up pre-written daily posts before I left.

If you’ve been enjoying some of the 2004-2006 content I’ve been posting lately, dont worry I have more to come. But all in all it just goes to show how deep my photo collection and posting will go. I think I could write this stuff the rest of my life and not run out of topics.

To celebrate my recent return from Japan, here is the coolest beverage vending machine you’ll ever see.

JTCC Miata and A Miata Customer of Ours

Posted by

Continuing on with hardcore Miata content…Did you know that Nopro had a JTCC Miata powered by a de-tuned 300hp 13B rotary engine? I cant imagine how fun it would be to drive this car!

And for those thinking that there arent any other nice hardcore aero tuning parts for the Miata, check our another brand we distribute Garage Vary:

And check out our customer Marlon’s Miata out in Tennessee! We got him some great stuff for his Miata (Garage Vary, Advan RGII, suspension, etc)

Garage Vary Bulletproof Customer

Check out the nice work with how Marlon painted it two tone. Notice those long running aero foils along the side skirts! That was one of the coolest side skirt designs I’ve seen. Very unique.

Super GT Car Builder Makes Big Scooter Parts – Is this cool? I dont know…

Posted by

So I’ve been trying to decide for a while if the big scooter scene in Japan is cool or not. It shares a lot of similarity to the car tuning scene which I love. Yet it’s scooters…scooters may be cool in Japan but from my American perspective they’ve always been the sport bike’s bitch. So I’ve been trying to decide whether scooter modification could be cool or not in the US. I have a bunch of industry connections that make scooter parts, and I’m slightly tempted to build one just for the hell of it and see if I like it. It’ll take a lot for me to get over the preconception that I grew up with which tells me that scooters are lame.

This however is certifiably not a lame company:

APR Japan Racing Car Builder

They build GT cars and not just these MR-S’s, they build the ARTA Gariya and NSX’s. They also produce titanium exhausts for Porsche 911s and other bad ass stuff.

Here’s their website if you’re interested in learning more. http://www.apr-jp.com/index.html

So what would scooter parts look like if they were built by a GT car constructor? Here they are (using APR’s air suspension system):

What do you think about these? Let me know.

APR Japan Scooter Majesty

And I know this is a different bike, but I had to post it because of the exhaust system! WTF!!? Thats some gangster scooter action right there…
