It is no secret that I’m really into cars…One of the things that happens over the years of being a car freak like me is that it takes greater extremes of unique things to impress me. So just when I thought I had seen it all from JDM tuning, I found this. A very rare TVR Sagaris in itself, but then modified with a custom titanium exhaust produced by Heat Magic Japan. The guys that made this exhaust are the same crazy guys who made that 4 muffler motorcyle exhaust I recently posted.

Before TVR was sold off to a rich young Russian guy who gradually ruined it, they were producing some really crazy cars. Unfortunately I’ve never had a chance to drive a TVR but it was always a dream of mine. To me, TVR embodies the light weight concept of Lotus but with an added level of insanity because all the TVR cars tend to be about 2-3x the power of Lotus cars. I’ve heard they are a nightmare to drive…it sounds like a fun nightmare to me!
This TVR Sagaris was the last car TVR produced. The power to weight ratio is exactly what I love about TVR. 380hp and less than 2376lbs! Those numbers guarantee you’ll be steadily working hard to avoid killing yourself by wrapping the car around a pole!
This Sagaris model was especially fascinating in its design. I would not call it classically beautiful, but I would call it unique! I actually love the headlights and the tailights. Also I’m still really enjoying the acrylic rear wing which I find especially cool not only for its uniqueness but also funtionally since it wont hurt rear visibility as much as a traditional painted wing.
Then there are parts that I hate about the car. I have one pet peeve in particular. I hate things that “fake the funk”. Things like “carbon fiber look” drive me crazy when I see it on cars. I dont like anything that tries to look like the real deal but is phony. On this TVR they had the potential to have really amazing designed front fender vents. Actually the shape is really cool! But then they went and made them solid so it just looks like exit vents but really does nothing. Why? If I owned a Sagaris I’d bring it to a body shop and open those vents up and do some custom work to make it look clean. There’s nothing worse to me than a fake. Even with that being said, I love this car and I think years after it’s production it still looks really awesome! If I could, I would totally buy one of these and modify it.
